Guide to Autumn/Winter 2019 Menswear Trends

Fashion is a forever evolving cycle and sometimes it’s hard to keep up. That’s why we’ve put together this comprehensive guide to the best of menswear this Autumn/Winter season. We’ve looked over the finest fashion shows from Prada to Ralph Lauren and picked out the best looks of the latter half of 2019. From vibrant colours to black suits, sophisticated vintage to iconic retro, there are looks for all preferences to be inspired from.

Bright Colours

These bold looks seen on the catwalks of Prada, Kenzo and Versace are bright, vibrant and gorgeous. The colours really pop on these outfits and stand out a mile. Neon yellow, green, pink and orange are all here; these combos are brave and beautiful. There are lots of block colours with some simple patterns such as stripes here which are very distinctive. To rock this look yourself, take a look at our brand new Igualdad polo belt - its vibrant, rainbow colours would fit right in with these bold styles. This look will be the talk of any social event.

Suited and Booted

Black is the new black for these outfits seen at the shows of Valentino, DSquared2 and Louis Vuitton. The classic black suit never seems to go out of style, that said, there are so many variations on this timeless look that it never gets old. The black suit can be worn casually or for the ultra-formal black tie dinners of high society. From skinny to oversized and with a variety of shirt and tie styles, there are so many ways to make this style your own. If you’re wearing a black suit this Autumn, there’s only one way to complete the look: the Black Label polo belt. The jet black thread forming subtle designs on the deep black leather creates a classy look for any event. Remember these looks when planning for your next big party, or perhaps when rethinking your work attire.

Peaky Blinders

Ever since the hit BBC programme hit our screens back in 2013, men all over the UK have been donning flat caps and shaving the sides of their heads; but nothing has been more influenced by the cult television programme than fashion; and this style is bigger than ever. These 1920’s inspired looks are personified by grey tartan patterns, big jackets and fine shoes, and have been seen on the catwalks of Fendi, Dolce and Gabbana and Marni. To complete your vintage look, choose the Sierra polo belt; the grey tones will complement the outfit perfectly, adding some exoticity to the classically British ensemble. With the fifth season of Peaky Blinders having just aired and plans for at least one more, now is the perfect time to create your own Tommy Shelby inspired look.

Preppy Looks

Inspired by the private schools of the UK and the American Ivy League Colleges, these preppy looks combine 1950’s clothing with modernity. Seen at shows from Ralph Lauren, Lacoste and Balmain, these looks usually feature a bold polo sweater as well as a plain shirt and often a statement tie. Coordination is key here with usually matching trousers and shoes. If you seek to emulate these iconic looks then we suggest the Jefe polo belt - completing the polo inspired outfit. The understated browns and blues will fit right in with these nostalgic styles. With the first term of schools and universities well underway, this is a great outfit choice for the Autumn going into Winter.

These looks were inspired by the best of the catwalks this year, but don’t be afraid to experiment with looks of your own. Our full range of polo belts is sure to inspire you to try different combinations of styles and colours.
